Wisdom for the Ages: Ecclesiastes 7
There is a lot of wisdom here in chapter 7 of Ecclesiastes. Solomon begins by proclaiming that a good name is better than precious ointment and the day of death is better than ones birth. Man ‘s days on this earth are often marked by sorrow and Solomon says that it is man’s lot in life to have some difficult times. Solomon contrast wisdom with foolishness and warns about receiving counsel from the foolish.
Wisdom is good because it gives life to those who have it and it strengthens the wise. Solomon says it is better to hear the rebuke of the wise. Solomon concluded by warning that foolish people can lead a heart astray. We must be on guard at all times are we can become victims of Satan and his design to use other’s to bring us down.
